HVAC Service Technician
Description
Work is focused on new, residential construction across the Hampton Roads area. Preferred active driver’s license.
Job Duties:
Expectations of HVAC Final Tech is to install units, zone boards, and thermostats, must be ready to repair, install or maintain all heating and cooling systems in a home or office building, and work is mainly focused on new construction.
- Maintain, install, and repair air conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems.
- Perform HVAC top-outs and finals; must be able to read blueprints
- Install general HVAC duct, as well as, units, air handlers, heat pumps, zone boards, thermostats, and verify installed systems for new construction and service calls.
- Must be able to solder/braise
- Troubleshoot issues with a current system as they are noticed.
- Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings to keep temperature comfortable in the home or office.
- Travel to different homes and businesses throughout the day and determine problems to repair or replace the system before the customer or client is inconvenienced.
- Installs must be up to code and be able to pass inspection.
- Have gathered required materials or arrive at the job site by 7:30 A.M.
- Work is focused on new residential construction across the Hampton Roads area, must be able to travel to job sites.
- Have tools for service / install
- Apprenticeship under a journeyperson for three to five years
- On the job training or experience
- Special certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants
- Certification or associate degree from an HVAC program at a technical school
- Clean active driver’s license
