Position Overview

We are seeking a responsible, dependable, and skilled HVAC Technician / Maintenance Mechanic to join our facilities maintenance team.

Our company is responsible for responding to HVAC service calls, repairs, preventive maintenance, and general facility maintenance needs for our clients. This position plays an important role in keeping our client facilities safe, comfortable, operational, and properly maintained.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in HVAC systems, strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

This is not a 100% HVAC-only position. While HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance will be a primary responsibility, the technician will also be expected to assist with other facility and building maintenance tasks as operational needs require.

Primary Responsibilities

Respond to HVAC service calls and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment and systems.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
Identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective action.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, labor hours, and equipment condition.
Use a CMMS or similar work-order management system to receive, update, and close work orders.
Maintain organized documentation and communicate job status effectively.
Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
Assist with general building and facility maintenance as needed.
Work with other technicians, supervisors, clients, and contractors to complete assigned work.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow company safety policies, client requirements, OSHA standards, and applicable codes.
Respond to emergency and after-hours calls when required by operational needs.
Maintain professional communication and conduct while working at client facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
1–2 years of hands-on HVAC experience minimum.
3–5 years of HVAC experience preferred for a more highly skilled technician position.
Current OSHA 10 certification.
EPA Universal / Section 608 certification.
HVAC-related certifications, licenses, or trade credentials preferred.
Working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, controls, and basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
Experience performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic work-order systems.
Experience with a CMMS or similar maintenance/work-order management software preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

3–5+ years of HVAC experience.
State or local HVAC licensing/certifications, where applicable.
Additional HVAC manufacturer or industry certifications.
Experience with commercial HVAC equipment and building systems.
Experience with rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, boilers, controls, exhaust systems, or similar equipment.
Electrical troubleshooting experience.
Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, or other building maintenance experience.
Experience working in commercial, industrial, institutional, or airport facilities.
Previous facilities maintenance experience.
Experience working in a CMMS environment.
