HVAC Startup Technician

Frontier Mechanical — Englewood, Colorado

Frontier Mechanical is looking for experienced HVAC Startup Technicians to join our team in the Denver metro area. We’re looking for technicians who know commercial HVAC equipment, understand proper startup procedures, and can troubleshoot equipment confidently in the field. Must be EPA Certified

What You’ll Do

• Perform startup and commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment
• Start up and troubleshoot RTUs, heat pumps, split systems, air handlers, VRF/VRV systems, and related equipment
• Verify proper electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control operation
• Check refrigerant pressures, temperatures, superheat, subcooling, and system performance
• Diagnose startup issues and work with electricians, controls contractors, sheet metal crews, and pipe fitters to resolve problems
• Complete startup documentation and equipment checklists accurately
• Identify installation issues and communicate deficiencies to the appropriate crews
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC startup/service experience preferred
• Strong understanding of refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, control schematics, and equipment documentation
• Comfortable troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
• Experience with refrigerant charging and proper system commissioning
• Ability to use gauges, meters, temperature probes, and other diagnostic equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the field team
• OSHA 10/30 preferred
