Independent Flooring Measurement Technician – 1099 Subcontractor

Keller Interiors LLC is seeking dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Independent Flooring Measurement Technicians to perform in-home flooring measurements and project assessments.

This is a 1099 independent subcontractor opportunity for individuals who enjoy working independently, interacting with customers, and spending their day in the field. Flooring, construction, estimating, or in-home customer service experience is a plus.

About the Opportunity

As an Independent Flooring Measurement Technician, you will travel to customers' homes to complete accurate flooring measurements and gather the information necessary to prepare flooring installation projects.

When the customer has selected the flooring product they wish to have installed, you may also prepare and present the applicable project quote based on the completed measurement, selected product, and installation requirements.

You will serve as an important point of contact in the customer's home, so professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication are essential.

Scope of Services

Conduct accurate in-home flooring measurements using provided technology and appropriate measurement tools.
Create detailed digital floor diagrams and document job-site conditions.
Determine flooring areas, material quantities, waste factors, and installation requirements.
Take required job-site photographs and enter detailed project notes.
Identify and document conditions that could affect the flooring installation.
Prepare and present project quotes when the customer has selected the flooring product they wish to have installed.
Review measurement and installation information with the customer and clearly communicate the next steps in the process.
Complete and submit measurement information accurately and promptly.
Manage daily routes and assigned appointments efficiently.
Communicate professionally with customers and appropriate support teams regarding measurement or job-site concerns.
Maintain customer confidentiality and provide a professional in-home experience.

What We Are Looking For

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate square footage and material quantities.
Comfortable using a tablet, smartphone, email, and measurement/estimating software.
Ability to work independently and manage a daily appointment schedule.
Reliable transportation.
Valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.
Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Flooring, construction, estimating, measuring, or home-improvement experience is preferred.
