I’m looking to hire a talented furniture refinisher/restoration specialist who enjoys bringing beautiful vintage furniture back to life.

We regularly encounter pieces with all kinds of damage — from water stains, scratches, dings and candle wax to cracks, finish damage, structural repairs and even the occasional broken leg.

Rather than allowing these beautifully made pieces from bygone eras to be discarded, our goal is to restore, preserve and rehome them.

There is something special about recognizing the craftsmanship that went into furniture made decades ago and giving it another opportunity to be appreciated for decades to come. Restoration also allows us to keep quality furniture in circulation and out of the landfill.

THE DREAM CANDIDATE ✨

I would love to find a true hardwood and furniture enthusiast — someone who can look at an incoming piece, identify the species of wood and existing finish, assess its condition, and determine the best approach to bring it back to a beautiful, presentable rehome/sale condition.

Experience with some or all of the following would be wonderful:

• Wood identification
• Furniture refinishing
• Stain and finish matching
• Scratch, ding and gouge repair
• Water and liquid damage
• Wax and surface contamination removal
• Veneer repair
• Crack and joint repair
• Structural furniture repair
• Broken legs and other woodworking repairs
• Restoration of vintage and antique furniture
• Understanding when to preserve an original finish rather than refinish it

Most importantly, I’m looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the revival process and takes pride in seeing a neglected piece become beautiful again.

We have real momentum behind us and recently landed a one-of-a-kind warehouse in the heart of Ballard —

“The Hangar.”

The building has an incredible layout, and we are currently optimizing the space around our growing operation.

Beyond furniture restoration, I would love to find someone with a refinishing/workshop background who could potentially help us develop the working-floor layout and restoration area within The Hangar as we grow.

HOURS & COMPENSATION

This is an ideal part-time opportunity with flexible hours.

I’m offering hourly compensation and am happy to negotiate based on experience, skill level and the complexity of the restoration work.

Same-day pay available.

I’m easy to work with and far more concerned with finding the right person with the right skill set than establishing a rigid schedule.
