Installer/Artist: Venetian Plaster & Stone

Aria Custom Design is looking for a serious career focused, construction or trade experienced person to join Aria as an apprentice, committed to learn the fine art of authentic Venetian plaster, and custom architectural stone installation. This is a five year apprenticeship under the guidance of an Artist Master Finisher in authentic Venetian plaster, highly distinctive wall finishes and commissioned decorative stone works. Aria’s owner/artist has developed specialized and proprietary techniques with Venetian plasters and stone, hand and trowel-crafting beautifully unique decorative finishes. NOTE: Aria is a drug free and smoke/vape free Company. Must present a professional appearance at all times while on the job and at project sites.

What You Will Learn:

Basics of plastering, wall preparation, job prep, all project support duties; graduating to artistic and specialized trowel techniques to produce increasingly refined decorative finishes.
Working with stone by hand and developing an understanding of its character and behavior
Creating custom architectural form and detail
Surface and material preparation
Traditional and contemporary plaster techniques
Venetian plaster and other specialty plaster finishes
Developing depth, movement, texture, and variation within a plaster surface
Proper use and care of hand tools and specialty tools
How different materials interact with light, architecture, and surrounding surfaces
The standards of craftsmanship required for high-end custom residential and commercial work

Previous experience with stone or plaster is a plus. Desire and commitment to learn a highly specialized craft is a must. Previous construction trade experience is a plus.
