About the Position

Gilead Management is hiring a dependable and hardworking Janitor C to work at multiple residential properties on Chicago’s South Side.

This position focuses on cleaning, sanitation, grounds upkeep, and maintaining clean and safe residential properties. The Janitor C will also assist the Janitor A with unit turns, property upkeep, and other assigned tasks as needed.

A reliable personal vehicle is required because this position travels between multiple properties during the workday.

What You’ll Do

• Clean common areas, offices, entrances, stairwells, and other assigned areas.
• Clean vacant apartments and help prepare units for new residents.
• Assist the Janitor A with unit turns, cleaning, and general property upkeep.
• Assist with basic maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Janitor A or supervisor.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean kitchens, bathrooms, floors, windows, and fixtures as assigned.
• Remove trash, debris, and bulk items.
• Keep building entrances, sidewalks, grounds, and exterior areas clean.
• Assist with snow and ice removal.
• Maintain cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Report leaks, water damage, mold or moisture concerns, pest activity, vandalism, safety hazards, and property damage.
• Communicate property concerns to management.
• Provide professional and courteous service when working around residents.
• Travel between assigned properties throughout the workday.

What We’re Looking For

• Janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, apartment, or property experience preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices.
• Willingness to assist with unit turns and general property upkeep.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Good communication and resident-service skills.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Transportation Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable personal vehicle required.
• Current automobile insurance required.
• Must be able to travel between multiple properties during the workday.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying supplies, and performing hands-on cleaning and grounds work.
