Rough-Ins & Renovations: Complete rough and trim plumbing work for residential remodels, additions, and new construction.
Code Compliance: Ensure all work meets or exceeds the Ohio Plumbing Code and local municipal codes across Franklin, Delaware, and surrounding counties.
Customer Service: Explain technical issues clearly to customers, present honest flat-rate options, and maintain a clean, respectable work space inside customer properties.
Skills & Competencies expected for 5–7 Years of Experience
Candidates with 5 to 7 years in the trade should be capable of completing the following skills with minimal supervision:
Advanced Technical Plumbing Skills:
Master-level pipe fitting and joining: Expert in soldering/sweating copper, working with PEX, PVC, CPVC, cast iron, and threading black iron gas lines.
Deep understanding of DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) system sizing, slope calculations, and venting principles.
Complete proficiency with water heater diagnostic, repairs, and full conversions (gas/electric to tankless).
Backflow prevention knowledge (testing or certification is a strong plus).
Diagnostic & Problem-Solving Mastery:
Ability to rapidly isolate complex leaks, low-pressure issues, gas line pressure drops, and hidden drain obstructions.
Fluent in reading architectural blueprints, mechanical schematics, and isometric plumbing drawings.
Equipment & Technology Competency:
Safe operation of sewer main cables, pipe locators, inspection cameras, and hydro-jetters.
Comfort using digital dispatch and invoicing apps on company tablets/smartphones.
Local Knowledge & Code Familiarity:
Working knowledge of Ohio Building & Plumbing Codes and suburban municipal inspection processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5 to 7 years of active residential and/or commercial plumbing experience.
Licensure:
City of Columbus Journeyperson Plumber License (or ability to obtain/transfer) is strongly preferred.
Registered Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB) experience history or trade completion is a plus.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Compensation & 90-Day Probationary Period
Starting Pay: Competitive rates based on experience (discussed during the initial interview).
Probationary Period: All new hires undergo a 90-day evaluation period. During this time, work quality, punctuality, code adherence, customer feedback, and job efficiency will be assessed. Successful completion of the 90 days opens up eligibility for performance reviews, pay adjustments, and company benefits.
Benefits Offered
Ongoing training and support for trade certifications.
