Journeyman Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of Peterbilt and International trucks, 53' semi-trailers, and roll-off trailers safely and efficiently. (Shop is located in Byron, CA.)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct BIT/DOT inspections and ensure total fleet compliance.

Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, maintenance, and complex repairs on Cummins ISX15 engines and core systems (electrical, hydraulic, air brakes, cooling, AC, transmission, clutch, steering).

Execute structural welding and fabrication as needed.

Complete maintenance logs accurately and maintain a safe workspace.

Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years in heavy-duty truck/trailer repair; familiar with Peterbilt, International, 53' vans, and roll-off trailers.

Technical Skills: Proficient with Cummins Insite software and Cummins ISX15 engines; strong knowledge of diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems; basic welding/fabrication.

Requirements: Valid driver's license with clean record; personal hand tool set.

Physical: Ability to perform heavy physical labor (lifting up to 50–300 lbs frequently) and work in outdoor weather conditions.
