Journeyman Electrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes and adheres to strict safety procedures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, troubleshooting, and reading electrical schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to renovation and maintenance, contributing significantly to the safety and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems in accordance with electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and connections safely following local electrical codes.
Diagnose complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters; develop effective solutions promptly.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures; implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects to ensure seamless execution.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including compliance reports, repair logs, and schematic updates.
Follow all electrical safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
Support ongoing training on new technologies such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low-voltage systems.
Qualifications

Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
Experience working with high-voltage wiring systems and low-voltage applications.
Skilled in installing and maintaining industrial electrical components including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Construction site experience with a focus on renovation projects is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety standards.
Valid electrician license or certification as required by local jurisdiction.
Strong hand tool proficiency along with familiarity with power tools used in electrical work.
