Junior Automotive Customization Technician – Will Train

Starting Pay: $20 an hour, based on experience and ability, up to $24.

BavGruppe Designs is looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined person to train as an Automotive Lighting & Customization Technician.

Previous headlight-building experience is NOT required. We will train the right person.

We are a specialty automotive customization company working primarily with BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other enthusiast and luxury vehicles.

This is a hands-on position involving automotive lighting, electronics, restoration and custom fabrication.

What You'll Learn:

Headlight disassembly and reassembly

Headlight lens replacement and restoration
LED lighting installation
Automotive wiring and soldering
Headlight resealing and waterproofing
Custom headlight fabrication
Projector and lighting upgrades
Wiring harness and module repair
Automotive electrical troubleshooting
Blackout and cosmetic customization
Proper testing and quality-control procedures

Who We're Looking For:

You do not need years of professional automotive experience.

We're more interested in finding someone who is mechanically talented, dependable and genuinely enjoys working with cars and building things.

You may be a good fit if you have experience or interest in:

Working on your own car or motorcycle

Automotive repair or customization
Car audio, alarms or remote-start installation
Auto body or collision repair
Electronics repair
Soldering and wiring
Detailing, vinyl wrapping or PPF
Fabrication or welding
RC cars, computers or other technical hobbies
Trade-school automotive/electrical training

What We Require:

Reliable and punctual attendance

Good mechanical aptitude
Comfortable working with hand and power tools
Ability to follow detailed instructions
Patience and attention to detail
Clean and organized work habits
Willingness to learn
Ability to work well with others
Ability to safely lift and handle automotive components
Genuine interest in automotive work

What We Offer:

$20–$24/hour starting pay, depending on experience and demonstrated ability
Hands-on training in a specialized automotive trade
Opportunity for increased pay as your skills develop
Advancement to Automotive Lighting Technician and eventually Senior/Lead Technician
Experience working on BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other specialty vehicles
Work that is considerably different from routine oil changes and mechanical repair

Important:

This is an in-person position in Queens, NY with established working hours.

Dependability and punctuality are extremely important.

We are looking for someone who wants to learn a specialized automotive skill and become a long-term member of our team.
