The University of Nebraska at Omaha is looking for a skilled Facilities Operator to help keep our campus operating safely, comfortably, and efficiently. If you have experience with commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance—and enjoy solving problems every day—we want you on our team.
This is more than a maintenance job. You'll help maintain the critical systems that support classrooms, laboratories, residence halls, and the spaces where thousands of students, faculty, staff, and visitors learn, work, and thrive.
What You'll Do
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, air handlers, pumps, generators, air compressors, and related mechanical equipment.
Monitor building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Respond to maintenance requests and equipment issues across campus.
Help identify and resolve mechanical problems before they become major repairs.
Work independently and as part of a skilled facilities team committed to excellence.
What We're Looking For
Experience maintaining commercial or industrial mechanical systems.
Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, pumps, and related building systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
A commitment to safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
