This position works out of our Casa Grande, Arizona location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On

  • Serve as the laboratory instrumentation and validation SME, providing technical guidance and training to analytical chemists.

  • Lead instrument validation activities and ensure compliance with validation protocols and procedures.

  • Maintain uninterrupted laboratory testing capabilities through equipment support, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.

  • Manage laboratory instrumentation, including HPLC, ICP, and GC systems.

  • Develop and communicate prioritized schedules for instrument maintenance, validation activities, and change requests.

  • Coordinate and maintain validation and method documentation within M-Files.

  • Support CAPA investigations, nonconformities, and quality records related to out-of-specification results.

  • Train chemists on instrument troubleshooting, calibration, and best practices.

  • Plan, prioritize, and track requests to ensure timely completion and closure.

  • Review change requests and documentation for compliance with internal policies and quality requirements.

  • Promote right-first-time submissions and provide feedback on change control documentation.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to review document changes, risk assessments, and change request progress.

  • Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) discussions for change management activities.

  • Provide routine project status updates and progress reports to management.

  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Working knowledge of analytical laboratory instrumentation and testing methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet project deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to identify, communicate, and escalate issues as appropriate.

  • Experience coordinating and leading meetings
