Exotic Automotive Technician

Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 annually, plus eligibility for up to 5% annual performance bonus if store targets are achieved.

Relocation packages available for those outside the Minneapolis market.

POSITION SUMMARY

Lamborghini Minneapolis is seeking a skilled, disciplined, and detail-oriented Exotic Automotive Technician responsible for maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, repair procedures, video documentation, and quality-focused service work on Lamborghini, luxury, exotic, and high-performance vehicles.

This role supports internal and external service operations including client-pay service, warranty work, used vehicle recon, pre-sale inspections, trade evaluations, and delivery readiness. The ideal candidate has strong technical ability and wide knowledge across multiple exotic and luxury brands.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repair procedures on Lamborghini, luxury, exotic, and high-performance vehicles.
  • Perform work across multiple exotic and luxury brands, not only Lamborghini.
  • Support internal recon, client-pay service, warranty-related work, trade inspections, and pre-sale evaluations.
  • Perform diagnostic inspections on mechanical, electrical, drivability, suspension, brake, powertrain, and warning-light concerns.
  • Perform detailed mechanical, cosmetic, paint, body, tire, brake, clutch, and modification inspections.
  • Record paint meter readings, tire tread depth, tire DOT/date-of-manufacture codes, brake pad wear, rotor condition, clutch wear when applicable, battery condition, fluid condition, suspension/underbody findings, and diagnostic scan results.
  • Inspect for prior paintwork, body repair, collision repair, refinishing, overspray, mismatched panels, track-use indicators, tuning, aftermarket parts, non-OEM wiring, exhaust changes, suspension changes, and modification-related risks.
  • Perform and document professional video inspections of vehicle findings.
  • Communicate repair status, findings, parts needs, and technical concerns clearly to the Shop Foreman and Parts & Service Manager.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality standards and minimizing comebacks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional automotive technician experience required.
  • Experience working on luxury, exotic, performance, or high-end vehicles strongly preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and repair ability across multiple exotic and luxury brands.
  • Ability to perform professional video inspections and document findings clearly.
  • Ability to record objective inspection measurements accurately and consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to follow direction from the Shop Foreman and Parts & Service Manager.
  • Professional attitude, accountability, and willingness to learn.
  • Technicians are expected to maintain a professional personal tool set appropriate for general automotive maintenance, inspection, diagnostic, and repair work.
  • Position is contingent upon successful completion of background check and MVR review.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Mercedes-AMG, Audi R8, or other exotic/luxury vehicle experience.
  • Manufacturer training or certifications.
  • High-voltage certification or hybrid/electric vehicle safety training preferred.
  • Experience using OEM scan tools and diagnostic platforms.
  • Experience with warranty repair documentation.
  • Experience with carbon ceramic brakes, advanced suspension systems, hybrid systems, performance drivetrains, and high-end electrical systems.
  • Experience supporting recon, pre-sale inspections, and luxury service operations.
  • Interest in long-term growth toward Lead Technician or Shop Foreman responsibilities.

EQUIPMENT & SUPPORT

  • Lamborghini Minnesota will provide dealership-required specialty tools, manufacturer-specific equipment, diagnostic systems, shop equipment, lifts, software access, high-voltage safety equipment when applicable, and other specialty resources necessary to perform the role
