Description

Position:

This is a full-time on-site position for a Survey Party Chief.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Data Collection: Assist in gathering measurements and data using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS devices, and levels, ensuring precision in all recordings.
Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain surveying equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly.
Data Documentation: Accurately document survey data, including notes, sketches, and measurements, while maintaining organized records for future reference.
Safety Practices: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaboration: Work closely with the Project Manager and other crew members, communicating effectively to share information and address any challenges that arise during fieldwork.
Quality Assurance: Conduct preliminary checks of collected data to identify any discrepancies and report them to Project Manager.
Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Assist in routine maintenance of surveying equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are clean, serviced, and ready for use.
Problem-Solving: Assist in troubleshooting any issues encountered in the field, contributing to effective solutions as part of a team.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or certification in surveying is a plus.
Familiarity with surveying instruments and techniques.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Experience with Boundary, ALTA, Construction, Drones, Topographical, and As-Built surveys.
Prefer 5+ year of experience, but will consider a well rounded individual with less years.
ability to carry 50lbs of equipment throughout rough terrain
ability to deal with insects, snakes, briars, and other outdoor wildlife and vegetation hazards.
Working Conditions: Survey Team Members will typically work in outdoor environments, which may involve physical labor and exposure to various weather conditions. Flexibility in hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
