Job Summary
The Landscape Construction Superintendent manages field operations for our landscape construction projects from start to finish. Working with project management and estimating, the Superintendent directs foremen and crews across multiple job sites and is responsible for getting projects built safely, on schedule, within budget and to contract specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Plan, direct and supervise foremen and field crews across multiple projects at the same time
· Set crew sizes and assignments; dispatch labor, equipment and materials to job sites
· Coach, train and evaluate foremen and field staff; support hiring and development of field leaders
· Review plans, specifications and budgets before each project starts; build and manage project schedules
· Monitor production and labor against budget, and adjust plans to keep projects on track
· Review and approve timecards, daily reports and other field documentation
· Lead the field safety program; ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA and company safety policies, and with stormwater (SWPPP) requirements
· Inspect work for quality and conformance to plans and specs; resolve field problems
· Coordinate with general contractors, owners, inspectors and landscape architects
· Help the project manager with change orders, RFIs and progress billing
· Manage punch lists, project closeout and warranty follow-up
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· 5+ years of commercial landscape or site construction experience, including at least 3 years supervising foremen and crews
· Strong knowledge of irrigation, planting and hardscape installation
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
· Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements; OSHA 30 a plus
· Public works (prevailing wage) experience preferred; experience working with union crews a plus
· Strong leadership, organization and communication skills
· Comfortable using mobile devices, email and scheduling/reporting tools
· Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
· Valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
· Regularly works outdoors on active construction sites in all weather conditions
· Frequent walking on uneven ground, standing, bending and climbing; occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs
· Daily travel between job sites in the Sacramento region
· Early starts; occasional extended hours or weekend work as projects require

Compensation and Benefits
· Pay range: $90,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience
