Landscape Designer – Residential Project Manager (3-5 years+ )

Position Overview:

Outdoor Design Group seeks a highly motivated Residential Project Manager to manage residential landscape projects. You will be responsible for meeting with clients and contractors and developing custom landscape designs. You will need practical construction knowledge in order to coordinate with contractors in the field and ensure that projects are well-executed and meet budget. This position requires daily coordination with other staff, contractors and clients. This is an amazing opportunity for growth and advancement!

Responsibilities and Duties:
● Conduct client consultations (both in person and remote) to assess site conditions, gather design goals, and understand budgets.
● Measure customer yards and draw accurate, to-scale base maps for use in the design process.
● Create innovative landscape designs and plans using design software (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, etc.)
● Project management and coordination (both in person at job sites and via video conferencing and email) with contractors and homeowners through the design and installation process.
● Develop accurate estimates, proposals, and presentations for clients.
● Maintain proactive, daily transparency with all stakeholders to ensure expectations are exceeded and project milestones are met.
● Represent Outdoor Design Group with professional enthusiasm, acting as a trusted advisor to our clients and a collaborative partner to our contractors.
● Partner with company leadership to manage project budgets and enhance the firm’s sales and design systems through data-driven updates and innovative process improvements.
● Assist company staff with other projects in the office when needed - diversify your expertise by collaborating on high-impact commercial and larger planning projects, providing a unique opportunity to expand your portfolio beyond the residential sector.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
● A Degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a closely related design field.
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience both in residential design and in overseeing construction in the field.
● Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. 3D rendering experience, and proficiency in Photoshop and SketchUp is a plus.
● Proven ability to generate accurate material take-offs, estimates, and construction details for hardscape, softscape, and outdoor living structures.
● A good understanding of Zone 5/6 plant palettes, xeric design principles, and plants that thrive in Colorado’s semi-arid climate.
● You must be detail oriented and well organized, with creativity and good communication skills.
● Ability to quickly shift between multiple tasks and to effectively handle adversity.

Location:

This is a hybrid role based in Arvada, CO. This is primarily an in-person role focused on active job site management, client meetings, and collaborative design at our office. Current work schedule is 4 days in office, and 1 day remote.

Additional hybrid schedule for design and admin work is negotiable, but a consistent on-site presence is required. Our office is conveniently located in historic Olde Town Arvada, adjacent to the Gold Line light rail station. Olde Town Arvada is located 7 miles northwest of downtown Denver.
