Description

We are small design/build landscaping company with a focus on naturescaping, serving the greater Portland metro area for 15 years. Seeking an experienced landscaping professional to join the team through 11/15/26 with the option for steady employment during the 2027 season. Starting pay is $30/hour.

The position is part time, both project-based (site specific renovations) and ongoing servicing of existing clients' properties. You would work closely with the owner to become familiar with the gardens we service and then assume some level of responsibility for their ongoing maintenance. You would also be prepared to participate in urban landscape renovations such as lawn replacement, rain gardens/bioswales, native plant habitat, tree/shrub/perennial planting, and general hardscaping.

Job requirements:

Enjoy working outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
Be self-directed as well as able to work closely with others in a team.
Access to smart phone during business hours.
Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs up to 80lbs.
Ability to perform landscape maintenance and/or enhancement tasks as directed, including but not limited to: mowing, edging turf, weeding and raking beds, applying mulch, pruning, shearing and trimming trees and shrubs, collecting leaves, debris, and trash, excavating, grading, planting, and clean up.
Accurately log time worked and maintain log of site visit tasks completed.
A reliable vehicle for commuting, transporting tools and supplies is strongly preferred, with a valid license, good driving record, and insurance. Hauling abilities are a plus (pickup bed, hitch, etc). Mileage and gas reimbursement are provided as is compensation for commute time between jobsites.
As the nature of the work is weather dependent, some flexibility with schedule is needed. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on developing your schedule, in order to build a schedule and appointment route that works for you and the business.
Experience with landscaping, gardening, and native plants is required **please specify your skill set in the email or cover letter when sending a resume.**

Must be able to handle and integrate feedback and be a team player.
Regular and punctual in-person attendance is required.
