Large Format Printer and CNC Operator

Description

Job Opportunity: Large-Format Printer & CNC Operator

Location: Queens, NY (In-Person)

Position Type: Full-Time

Environment: High-Volume, Fast-Paced

About Us

We are a premier, high-volume sign shop located in Queens, turning out top-tier visual branding, custom signage, and large-scale graphics. Our floor is high-energy, fast-paced, and constantly moving. We pride ourselves on sharp execution and rapid turnaround times without ever sacrificing quality.

We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-obsessed Large-Format Printer & CNC Operator to join our production team. If you thrive under a deadline, love seeing a digital file turn into a massive physical installation, and know how to keep industrial machinery humming, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities

Print Production: Set up, operate, and maintain flatbed and roll-to-roll large-format printers.
CNC Operation: Load materials, set toolpaths, and operate the CNC router for precise cutting, routing, and engraving of various substrates (acrylic, PVC, aluminum, wood, etc.).
File Prep & QC: Review digital files for accuracy before production, ensuring correct dimensions, resolution, and color profiles.
Quality Control: Maintain an eagle-eye focus on detail—inspecting outputs for banding, color accuracy, registration errors, and material defects.
Finishing & Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Assist with basic finishing (weeding, laminating, trimming) as needed to keep jobs moving.
What We Are Looking For

Proven Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience running flatbed/roll-to-roll printers and CNC machinery in a dedicated sign shop or production print environment.
The Fast-Paced Mindset: You don't stress under a tight deadline; you get focused. You know how to prioritize tasks on a crowded production floor.
Attention to Detail: "Good enough" isn't in your vocabulary. You catch the typos, the color shifts, and the minor alignment issues before the job is finished. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout all stages of production
Communication: Fluency in English is a strict requirement. You must be able to read complex work orders, communicate seamlessly with design and installation teams, and follow precise technical instructions.
Material Savvy: Strong knowledge of signage substrates, vinyl types, and CNC bits/feeds/speeds for different materials.
Proficiency in prepress software like Rasterlink, Flexi, Onyx & Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for file preparation and layout/design
Expertise in color management techniques to ensure vibrant and consistent output
Familiarity with graphic design principles, typography, and print advertising standards
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively during production runs
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout all stages of production

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods on the production floor.
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and rolls of media (up to 50 lbs).
What We Offer

Competitive hourly wage / salary (commensurate with experience).
A dynamic, collaborative, and energetic team culture.
Opportunities to work with state-of-the-art equipment on high-profile NYC projects.
