Lead Automotive Technician Wanted – Vehicle Specialist

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Automotive Technician to join our team at our busy independent automotive shop in Brookline.

We service a diverse range of makes and models, handling everything from everyday driveability issues and factory-scheduled maintenance to advanced diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs. As our Lead Technician, you will serve as the technical backbone of the shop—diagnosing tricky problems, communicating with team members, and ensuring every vehicle leaves the shop running at its absolute best.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide variety of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
Oversee and execute scheduled maintenance, driveability diagnostics, and major component overhauls.
Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently, accurately, and to the highest standards of quality.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while adhering to shop safety protocols.
Provide technical leadership, support, and guidance to fellow technicians.
Communicate clearly and professionally with service advisors regarding repair requirements, parts needs, and time estimates.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional automotive repair and diagnostic experience across diverse makes and models.

Diagnostic Skills: Advanced proficiency in modern diagnostic scanners, scope work, wiring schematics, and pinpointing complex drivability or electrical issues.

Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
Tools: Must have your own set of professional-grade tools.

Certifications: ASE Master Technician status or relevant factory training is a strong plus.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
