Position Summary
The Lead Carpenter is responsible for overseeing residential remodeling and construction projects while performing skilled carpentry work. This position serves as the on-site leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company quality standards.
- Lead and supervise carpenters, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate daily job site activities.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Conduct daily job site inspections.
- Communicate project progress to management and homeowners.
- Perform framing, trim, finish carpentry, cabinetry installation, door installation, and general remodeling work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure and layout construction projects accurately.
- Complete punch-list items and final project details.
- Maintain professional communication with homeowners.
- Address customer concerns promptly.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
- Enforce company safety standards.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.
- Ensure all work meets local building codes and company quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the project.
- Verify material deliveries.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Track material usage and shortages.
- Coordinate material needs with the Project Manager.
### Required
- 5+ years of residential construction or remodeling experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and residential construction practices.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Experience managing kitchen and bathroom remodels.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Knowledge of permitting and building inspections.
- Experience with project management software.
