Lead Carpenter — Design-Build Firm

SpaceCamp Design Build, Inc. a design-build practice in Santa Cruz County looking for a skilled Lead Carpenter to run projects in the field — from framing through finish work — on custom residential remodels and new builds & commercial tenant improvements.

Description of the Lead Carpenter role:

• Lead a small crew on-site, day to day, keeping the job moving and the work sharp
• Read plans and execute to spec, flagging issues before they become problems
• Handle framing, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry with equal confidence
• Coordinate with subs, the project manager, and the client on-site
• Keep job sites organized, safe, and code-compliant

Lead Carpenter role requirements:

• 5+ years of carpentry experience, with the ability to run a crew solo
• Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and general best practices
• Comfortable reading architectural drawings
• Reliable, detail-oriented, takes pride in the work
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, ideally a truck

Bonus: experience with custom/high-end residential work, familiarity with Santa Cruz building department processes

Compensation: DOE, based on experience and skill level
