LEAD CARPENTER JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lead Carpenter position will work on 1-3 residential job sites varying in size from $150,000 renovations to million-dollar custom homes. The position is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean jobsite, directing carpenters and laborers, and ensuring quality requirements are met. Partnering with the Superintendent to outline daily and weekly tasks for the carpentry team.

Position Responsibilities:
-Expedite timely completion of the work to deliver on schedule and budget goals.
-Supervise Carpenters and laborers. Provide design information, monitor quality, and provide motivation.
-Responsible for resolving carpentry issues.
-Coordinate with the Superintendent for assistance ordering specialty materials. You must plan ahead for timely material delivery. ----Use the vendor’s delivery services whenever possible.
-Responsible for ensuring end of day procedures are handled. Clean up, weather protection and security. Must notify clients in advance of any service interruptions.
-Perform carpentry at the highest level.
-Miscellaneous other duties as required.

Position Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
-Good communication, job coordination and supervisory skills
-Must have mastery of reading construction documents and be able to lay out and direct all work from plans and specifications.
-Extensive rough and finish carpentry skills and superior knowledge of construction methods and techniques
-Must have a good working knowledge of related building trades
-The ability to interact and communicate well with your crew, subcontractors, and the client
-California driver’s license and clean driving record
-Bilingual (preferred but not required)
-Minor computer skills (preferred)
