Artwell Construction is a small, well-established residential remodeling company specializing in high-quality renovations throughout Ocean Beach, Point Loma, and the surrounding San Diego area. We're looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who can take ownership of small to mid-sized remodeling projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys solving problems, leading by example, and producing quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead residential remodeling projects from start to finish.
Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
Perform high-quality finish and rough carpentry.
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and apprentices.
Plan daily workflow and keep projects moving efficiently.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Communicate professionally with homeowners, subcontractors, and management.
Identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions.
Ensure all work meets company quality standards and applicable building codes.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of residential construction experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of residential remodeling methods and materials.
Experience with framing, finish carpentry, drywall, doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and general construction.
Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Valid California driver's license with reliable transportation (truck preferred).
Must own basic hand tools and power tools.
Bonus Skills (Not Required)

Experience with:

Plumbing

Electrical
Tile installation
Drywall finishing
Painting

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
