Lead Carpenter / Project Manager
Hands-on foreman role with growth potential at Sacramento Remodeling Services.
Sacramento Remodeling Services is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter transitioning into a
Project Manager role to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on
carpentry work, leading others, and growing into more project management responsibility.
This is a hands-on working foreman position. We are looking for someone who can follow a scope of
work and construction plans, understand what needs to be built, lay out the project, determine and
order necessary materials, coordinate with subcontractors, and lead a crew through completion.
There are often small gaps between trades or subcontractor scopes, and this person should be
comfortable helping to close those gaps to keep the project moving smoothly.
The right candidate will work alongside the crew and subcontractors while helping with direct
day-to-day construction operations, maintaining quality, planning, and keeping the work moving
efficiently. Experience in other trades, especially plumbing and electrical, is highly desirable.

What You’ll Do
- Enforce company safety procedures and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Problem-solving in the field and making sound construction decisions.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and details.
- Translate plans into actual field layout and construction.
- Perform hands-on carpentry work alongside the crew.
- Lay out walls, openings, elevations, dimensions, and other project requirements.
- Perform and oversee rough and finish carpentry as required by the project.
- Plan upcoming work and determine the labor, materials, tools, and equipment needed.
- Prepare material takeoffs and order necessary materials.
- Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities and materials received.
- Direct carpenters and laborers and assign daily work.
- Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and company quality
• Identify plan discrepancies or field conflicts and communicate them to the Project Manager or
Superintendent before proceeding.
- Coordinate work with subcontractors and other trades.
- Monitor job progress and communicate material needs, manpower needs, delays, changes, and

- Inspect completed work for quality and correct issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Previous experience as a Carpenter Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar position.
- Strong ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications is
• Must be able to take a project from the plans to actual field construction with limited
supervision.
- Experience performing material takeoffs and ordering construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, construction practices, tools, and materials.
- Ability and willingness to perform physical, hands-on carpentry work every day.
- Ability to lead a crew while working alongside them.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and anticipate material and manpower needs.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take responsibility for assigned projects.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- $37.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time position.
- Vehicle and gas allowance available after a short review period.
- Paid holidays and paid time off.
This is not a supervisory-only position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being on the
jobsite, tools in hand, working alongside the crew while also helping plan, direct, and oversee the
work.
Applicants should be able to read construction plans independently, lay out the work, determine
material requirements, order materials, and lead a crew in completing quality carpentry work.
Experience in other trades, especially plumbing and electrical, is highly desirable. For the right
