Space|Craft Custom Homes and Renovations is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Site Superintendent to join our team. We specialize in full scale residential renovations, major additions, and custom homes throughout the greater Seattle area. Our projects are often down to the studs renovations that require thoughtful planning, strong leadership, exceptional craftsmanship, budget awareness, and a commitment to outstanding client service.

~About the Role~
We're looking for someone who takes pride in leading complex residential renovations from start to finish. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented, and committed to maintaining an efficient, clean, and professional jobsite. They should be equally comfortable coordinating homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and fellow team members while keeping quality, schedule, budget, and customer experience at the forefront of every project.

The Lead Carpenter / Site Superintendent is responsible for the day to day management of residential renovation projects from construction start through completion. This position works closely with homeowners, subcontractors, designers, architects, project managers, and company leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.

Our field leaders work alongside Project Managers, office staff, established subcontractors, architects, designers, and skilled trade partners. We believe the best field leaders are supported by strong systems, clear communication, and a collaborative team environment, allowing them to focus on successfully leading projects in the field.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys full scale residential renovations and wants to be part of a team that values craftsmanship, professionalism, accountability, and long term client relationships.

~Responsibilities~

  • Take ownership of project execution from construction start through completion
  • Manage daily jobsite operations
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors
  • Maintain project schedules and sequencing
  • Monitor project budgets and labor efficiency
  • Ensure work is completed to company quality standards
  • Perform carpentry work and field problem solving as needed
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Communicate regularly with homeowners and clients
  • Coordinate with project management, office staff, designers, and architects
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget

~Qualifications~

  • Extensive experience in residential remodeling and renovation
  • Previous experience as a Lead Carpenter, Site Lead, Superintendent, or similar leadership role
  • Strong understanding of full scale residential renovations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and jobsite logistics
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

~Trial Period~
This position begins with a 30 day working trial period to ensure the role is a good fit for both the employee and the company. Upon successful completion, a long term employment offer will be extended.
