Lead Carpenter / Skilled Trades / Construction Laborers

PDX Design Construction is hiring skilled Carpenters and Construction Laborers for commercial construction and public works projects throughout the Portland Metro area.

We are a growing Oregon general contractor looking for dependable, skilled people who take pride in their work, show up consistently, and want steady full-time employment with opportunities to advance.

PAY

Construction Laborers: $30.00–$62.14/hour

Carpenters: $37.50–$74.50/hour

Gyp Board Finishers; Painters & Flooring - $34.00- $62.14

Pay is based on experience, skill level, and project assignment. Applicable BOLI prevailing wage rates are paid when assigned to qualifying public works projects.

CARPENTERS

We are looking for well-rounded carpenters with experience in commercial & public works that include:

• Rough carpentry
• Wood framing
• Metal stud framing
• Formwork
• Door and frame installation
• Deck construction
• Structural improvements and repairs
• Blocking, backing, and miscellaneous carpentry
• Commercial renovations and tenant improvements

Carpenters should be comfortable reading construction plans, performing layout, taking accurate measurements, safely operating hand and power tools, and completing assigned work with limited supervision.

Commercial construction and public works experience is highly desirable.

CONSTRUCTION SKILLED TRADE & GENERAL LABORERS

We are looking for dependable skilled trades including, gyp board finishing, painting, concrete & construction laborers who are comfortable working in an active commercial construction environment and assisting our carpenters and field crews. Excellent opportunity to earn additional hours if you have your own license and want to supplement your business or want full time work.

Previous construction experience is preferred. Commercial and public works experience is highly desirable.

REQUIREMENTS

• Construction experience
• Commercial and/or public works experience preferred
• Dependable and able to consistently report to work on time
• Reliable transportation required
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Pickup truck or work truck is a plus
• Able to safely use hand and power tools
• Able to lift and handle construction materials
• Able to work indoors and outdoors
• Able to follow plans, instructions, and jobsite safety requirements
• Basic hand tools expected for carpenter positions
• Must be able to meet project-specific background or security requirements when required
