DL Phillips Construction is a small and trusted residential renovation contractor serving the south Puget Sound. We take pride in doing things the right way, remaining transparent, ethical and accountable to our clients. We are seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team. A strong framing, and/or finish work skillset required. The ideal candidate for DL Phillips shares in our values of supporting team member growth, professionalism and accountability. A Lead Carpenter will have expertise in a variety of carpentry tasks and will lead a team of 1-3 apprentice carpenters in executing projects efficiently and to the highest standards. Projects range from minor fixes to entire home remodels or new construction - leaning heavier into remodeling. Hours are Mon-Friday, generally 7am-3pm.

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform carpentry tasks to a high quality, including measuring, cutting, and installing wooden structures and framing at an efficient pace.
  • Assemble and disassemble temporary structures as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate construction
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; assist with jobsite preparation and cleanliness.
- Oversee and coordinate construction projects from start to finish - including subcontractor and client communications.

-Ensure all work is completed within reasonable time, and monitor budget requirements by collaborating with Project Manager and Estimator.

- Train and mentor junior carpenters.

-Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (2+ years) as a Lead Carpenter or similar role with excellent leadership skills.
Proficient in COMMUNICATION with team members, superiors, clients and subcontractors.
Proven ability to problem solve.
Strong knowledge of various carpentry techniques and methods, with high attention to details and craftsmanship.
Ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively.
Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods of time
