Lead Handyman / Multi-Trade Tech

Well in Hand is a residential home maintenance concierge serving homeowners across DC and the surrounding area. We're looking for an experienced, senior-level handyman who can take a scope of work and get it done start to finish with minimal oversight.

This is not a helper role. You'll be the person on site: reading the scope, managing your time, solving problems as they come up, and representing our company directly with homeowners.

What we need:

• 5+ years of hands-on residential repair/maintenance experience across multiple trades
• Can work independently from a written scope and photos, and make sound judgment calls on the job
• Knows when a problem is beyond scope and calls it in before proceeding
• Sends clear progress updates and before/after photos by text
• Professional and courteous in clients' homes, with clean, careful work habits
• Reliable: shows up when committed and finishes what you start

Types of work:

• Minor electrical (switches, outlets, fixtures, ceiling fans)
• Minor plumbing (toilets, faucets, sink hookups, drains)
• Drywall repair, patching, taping, finishing
• Carpentry (doors, trim, shelving, minor framing, deck repairs)
• Interior/exterior painting and prep
• Tile (backsplash, floors, shower repairs)
• Flooring (LVP, laminate, hardwood repairs)
• Mounting and assembly (TVs, shelves, cabinets)
• Caulking, weatherstripping, sealing
• Minor HVAC (filters, vents, thermostats)
• Hardware and fixture installation
• General maintenance and small-to-mid-size improvement projects

Requirements:

• Own tools (hand and power) and a reliable vehicle
• Valid driver's license
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet all day
• Weekday availability

Pay: $30–$40/hr depending on experience. Contract (1099), project-based, with steady ongoing work for the right person. Jobs are scheduled starting now.
