Lead Holiday Lighting Installer / Crew Leader – $20-$23/hr

Blingle of South Florida is hiring an experienced Lead Holiday Lighting Installer / Crew Leader to lead a field crew throughout the upcoming holiday season (Mid-September through Late January.)

This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for someone who can lead a crew, work alongside installers, take ownership of each job site, manage company equipment and materials, and communicate professionally with customers.

Pay & Schedule

• $20–$23/hour based on experience and demonstrated ability
• Seasonal 1099 contract position through late January
• Additional hours and some weekends should be expected during peak holiday weeks
• Workdays may extend beyond 8 hours depending on project schedules
• Potential opportunity for year-round work and advancement

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside a 2–4 person installation crew
• Review job scopes, designs, photos, and installation instructions
• Assign tasks and keep the crew productive and on schedule
• Ensure installations meet Blingle quality and safety standards
• Train and assist less-experienced installers
• Troubleshoot lighting, power, and connection issues
• Perform final testing and job-site inspections
• Verify all required materials, tools, ladders, PPE, and equipment before leaving for each project
• Maintain an organized company truck, trailer, tools, and materials
• Communicate professionally with customers and management
• Report job changes, damages, material shortages, or customer requests to management

Driving & Equipment
The Lead Installer will be trusted with company vehicles and equipment and must be comfortable:

• Driving an assigned company truck
• Towing, backing, parking, connecting, and disconnecting a 14-ft enclosed trailer
• Transporting company lift equipment when assigned
• Performing basic pre-trip and equipment checks
• Keeping vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment organized and secure

Installation Experience
The Lead Installer must be capable of performing and overseeing professional holiday lighting installations, including:

• C9 roofline lighting
• Tree, palm, branch, column, railing, and landscape wrapping
• Wreaths, garlands, displays, and specialty décor
• Timers, extension cords, connectors, jumper cables, and temporary holiday power
• Troubleshooting and service work
• Holiday lighting removals and organization

Requirements

• 18+ years old
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving ability
• Comfortable driving a truck and towing/maneuvering a 14-ft trailer
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights up to 40 feet
• Comfortable operating or learning to operate a boom lift
• Able to repeatedly climb ladders and lift/carry approximately 50 lbs
• Previous hands-on trade or installation experience
• Ability to lead and direct a field crew
• Strong organization, reliability, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Professional attitude and customer service
• Flexible availability during peak holiday weeks

Previous experience in holiday lighting, landscape lighting, roofing, construction, electrical/low-voltage, tree work, sign installation, ladder/lift work, trailer towing, or crew leadership is strongly preferred. Previous experience supervising a 2–4 person field crew is a major plus.

Skills & Safety Evaluation

Lead Installer candidates will complete a hands-on ladder, height, driving, equipment, installation, and safety evaluation. Continued work in the Lead Installer role is contingent upon successfully demonstrating the ability to safely perform the essential requirements of the position.
