Knowles LumberCraft Construction is looking for an experienced, dependable Lead Installer / Crew Lead to manage residential wildfire home-hardening and construction projects throughout Marin County and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on position for someone who can work independently, manage one or two additional workers, communicate professionally with homeowners, and make sure projects are completed correctly and efficiently.

Typical Work Includes:

All facets of residential construction and remodeling

Wildfire / ember-resistant vent installation
Foundation, attic, soffit, and crawlspace vent retrofits
Metal and aluminum fence installation
Gates and fence modifications
Zone 0 wildfire-hardening improvements
Ember-resistant screening and mesh installation
Gutter guard installation
Under-deck screening and enclosures
Carpentry, framing, trim, and finish work
Deck, siding, fence, and exterior repairs
Demolition and installation work
Drywall, patching, and minor finish repairs
Layout, measuring, cutting, drilling, fastening, and general construction
Other residential construction tasks as needed

Responsibilities:

Lead installation projects from start to finish

Direct and work alongside a small crew
Review the scope of work and determine installation sequence
Measure and lay out projects accurately
Keep projects moving efficiently and maintain quality standards
Identify field issues and communicate solutions
Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
Communicate professionally with homeowners
Keep track of materials, tools, and work completed
Help build out the field crew as workload grows
Opportunity to recommend experienced workers or tradespeople you have worked with in the past for additional hiring

Requirements:

Construction, fencing, carpentry, remodeling, or exterior installation experience
Ability to lead and supervise other workers
Must have reliable transportation
Must have your own basic construction tools
Comfortable using saws, drills, grinders, levels, ladders, and other construction equipment
Able to read measurements and perform jobsite layout accurately
Reliable and able to show up on time
Good communication skills
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical construction work

Experience with wildfire home hardening, aluminum fencing, metal fabrication, vents, siding, decks, remodeling, or finish carpentry is a plus. We can train the right experienced construction lead on wildfire-specific products and installation requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:

Approximately $45/hour, depending on experience and ability

Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with strong crew-lead and project-management experience
