Lead Mechanic - $27/hr, $80K-100K/yr, Lead Field Jobs (Cinnaminson)

$27/hr base | $80K-100K per year | Full-time | Cinnaminson, NJ

Experienced mechanic ready to run the job? Lead our field crews installing and repairing pumps and water/wastewater equipment for towns and businesses. With prevailing-wage jobs and overtime, leads typically earn $80K-100K a year.

What you'll do:

• Lead field jobs: plan the work, direct the crew, and make sure it's done safely and right
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, valves, and water/wastewater equipment
• Train and mentor apprentices and helpers
• Communicate with customers and the office on job progress, materials, and issues
• Keep trucks, tools, and equipment in good shape
• Take your turn on the emergency on-call rotation

Who we're looking for:

• Several years of hands-on mechanical experience (pumps, engines, hydraulics, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or heavy equipment)
• Experience leading a crew or running jobs
• CDL preferred, or willing to get one
• Reliable: shows up every day and sets the example for the crew
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Able to pass a drug test, background check, and DMV abstract check
• Comfortable with heights, dirty work, and unpleasant smells

Physical requirements (this is demanding, hands-on work):

• Regularly lift and carry 50-75 lbs
• Work in confined spaces, wet vaults, and pump stations, including climbing ladders
• Comfortable with sewage, dirty work, and unpleasant smells
• Bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and snow, with long days when emergencies come up
• Wear required safety gear (respirator, harness, PPE)
• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (DOT physical for CDL drivers)
• MMC may require employees to be clean-shaven at any time for respirator fit and safety (religious and medical accommodations considered)
• Company vehicles are tracked with Samsara GPS and dash cameras
