⚡ Learn a Trade – Electrician Helper / Apprentice – Will Train

IT'S TIME TO LEARN A TRADE.

Priority 1 Electric is a small, owner-run electrical repair and maintenance company. We have been in Sacramento since 1992, licensed C-10 #657852, and we answer our own phone. Most of what we do is figure out why the power went out in somebody's house and get it back on. We are not new construction. We are not handymen.

I am accepting applications for one entry-level crew position: ride with my lead technician, learn the trade the way it is actually done in the field, and become an electrician here. No electrical experience necessary. I will train you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Service calls all over the Sacramento area: dead circuits, breakers that keep tripping, outlets that quit, panel replacements, EV chargers, mobile home parks, lighting, new circuits.
• Start by carrying, pulling wire, drilling, tracing cable, holding the light. Do more of the work yourself as you are ready for it.
• Attics, crawlspaces, ladders, outdoors in the heat and the rain, old houses. A different job site every day. Real work.

WHO I WANT

You do not need electrical experience. You need to be mechanically inclined and know your way around hand tools. If you have worked on cars, done HVAC, plumbing or maintenance, built things, fixed things, or you are the one everybody calls when something is broken - call me. I would rather train a sharp, reliable person from the ground up.

• Reliable and on time, every day, rain or shine. That is most of the job at first.
• 18 or older, valid California driver's license, and a driving record we can insure.
• Able to work outdoors, lift at least 50 lbs, climb a ladder, fit in an attic.
• Able to follow directions, learn more than one task, and work in different environments.
• Ask questions. Take notes. Never guess with electricity.
• Good with people. A lot of our customers are older folks who just want their lights back.

If you are already a certified electrician, this is not your ad. This is an entry-level position with room to grow.

WHAT YOU GET

• Full-time, year-round work. Service work does not stop when construction slows down.
• One-on-one training from a lead tech who does residential service every day. Most programs teach new construction. Troubleshooting a 1960s house with the customer standing behind you is a different skill, and it is the one that pays.
• Your hours count toward your California electrician certification. We will help you register as an Electrician Trainee, which will eventually require enrolling in an approved trade school program.
• A crew small enough that the owner knows your name.
• Pay and benefits will be discussed at the interview.
