LICENSED ELECTRICIAN - STATE OF VIRGINIA

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supervising the electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within the commercial and industrial settings. Travelling Electricians are welcome, and is a plus for this position.
JOB DUTIES

  • Selects and assigns staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion.
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
  • Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
  • Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
  • Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
  • Requisitions and/or purchases supplies, materials, and tools.
  • Estimates cost of materials needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Inspects and evaluates electrical equipment to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely; determines whether equipment and new installations meet requirements of the National Electrical Code.
  • Inspects buildings in order to determine electrical maintenance needs by visual observation, gages, meters, and other test equipment.
  • Studies blueprints and schematics in order to plan the material and labor needed to accomplish tasks.
  • Provides oversight of communication and network operations including testing, installation, and maintenance.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
5-10 years commercial or industrial experience
Previous service/maintenance experience is a plus, but not required.
Ability to read blueprints, run conduit, wire and terminate devices, perform quality control testing and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new construction or existing setting
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move moderately heavy objects
Ability to ascend/descend ladders
Good computer skills including proficiency with MS Office
Excellent communication skills -- ability to interact well with project managers, subordinates, vendors, other trades and professionals.
Possession of reliable transportation and basic hand tools
Willingness to travel; work nights/weekends/overtime, as required.
Must be able to pass criminal background checks
Experience
5 years experience in a supervisory role is a plus
