Licensed Plumber / Underground Utility Installer

Northwest Fort Worth | $22–$27/hr DOE | Full-Time

Prime Utility Piping / Get It Dug is looking for a Texas-registered Plumbing Apprentice, Tradesman, Journeyman or Master Plumber who wants to specialize in underground utility installation and directional drilling.

TEXAS PLUMBING REGISTRATION/LICENSE REQUIRED

Applicants must currently hold at least a Texas Plumbing Apprentice registration/card.

Tradesman, Journeyman and Master Plumbers are also encouraged to apply. Pay will depend on experience, licensing and ability.

This Is NOT a Typical Plumbing Job

We specialize in underground work—water services, gas lines, sewer, conduit and other utility piping.

We also perform a large amount of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) using midsize directional drilling equipment throughout Fort Worth and the DFW area.

You’ll work directly with an experienced drill operator and learn:

• Directional drilling / HDD
• Drill-head locating
• Underground utility installation
• Water and gas service installation
• Pulling back PEX, poly, conduit and other piping
• Excavation and utility exposure
• Equipment operation
• Jobsite setup and underground construction

You WILL Be Digging

We want to be very clear about this.

This is underground construction. You will use a shovel.

You’ll be working alongside the rest of the crew digging access pits, exposing utilities, helping the drill operator locate, connecting pipe and assisting with pullbacks.

We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to work hard but also wants to learn valuable skills and move up.

Our goal isn’t to keep you as a helper. We want someone who can develop into a strong underground plumber/utility installer and eventually take on more responsibility in the field.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Current Texas Plumbing Apprentice registration OR higher plumbing license
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance
• Ability and willingness to perform physical outdoor work
• Comfortable working around construction equipment

Big plus:

• Underground plumbing experience
• Water/sewer/gas service experience
• Directional drilling/HDD experience
• Utility locating experience
• Excavator or equipment experience
• Spanish/English bilingual

Spanish is helpful but not required.

Location Matters

Our shop is in Northwest Fort Worth.

We strongly prefer applicants reasonably close to Northwest Fort Worth, Saginaw, Haslet, Lake Worth, Azle, Springtown, Eagle Mountain and surrounding areas.

We start our days from the shop, so please consider your morning commute before applying.

Compensation

$22–$27/hour depending on experience, plumbing license level and ability.

Higher-level licensed plumbers with the right underground experience are encouraged to contact us as well.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants something different from residential service plumbing and wants to become skilled in underground utility construction and directional drilling.
