Isaiah Trucking, Inc. is looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain our commercial delivery fleet.
This is a true hourly position. You are paid for the hours you work—not billed hours, book time, or flat-rate hours.
If a repair takes 4 hours, you get paid for 4 hours. You're not competing with other technicians for work and you're not waiting for customer jobs to come through the door.

We have trucks that need to run every day. Your job is to keep them running.

What You'll Work On

Our fleet consists of gas and diesel commercial delivery vehicles, including:
Ford and Chevrolet/GMC cutaway vans
Step vans
Freightliner trucks
International trucks
Cummins and Detroit-powered vehicles

Work includes preventative maintenance, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, electrical and check-engine-light diagnosis, drivability issues, DOT-related repairs, and general mechanical repairs.

What We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who already knows how to turn a wrench and diagnose problems.

You should be able to:

Diagnose mechanical problems without constant supervision
Handle repairs from diagnosis through completion
Work on both gas and diesel vehicles
Troubleshoot electrical and drivability issues
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
Work efficiently and stay on task
Recognize problems before they become roadside breakdowns
Professional mechanic experience is required.
Commercial fleet, medium-duty, diesel, or truck experience is preferred, but we're interested in talking to experienced automotive technicians who have the mechanical ability to transition into fleet work.

Tools

You must have your own mechanic tools.
We don't expect you to personally own every specialty tool needed for commercial trucks, but you should have the normal hand and power tools expected of an experienced professional mechanic.

Pay
$32.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
This is hourly pay—not flat rate.
Paid weekly.
Starting pay will be based on experience, diagnostic ability, commercial/diesel experience, and overall skill level.
