Light/General Maintenance Technician

Home City Ice is looking for someone that can do light maintenance work on ice freezers in the Detroit area. Some very light electrical knowledge with the potential for some HVAC in the future is a big plus. We will train you. This is a part-time to full-time position 25-40 hours a week. Being able to work on weekends is a plus. Hours would be from 8am-4pm most of the time but we can be flexible on start time if you like to start earlier or later than that. Company vehicle required to get to the stops that we need you to look at. Training period is also paid at your normal hourly rate. Starting pay is $19 per hour. Benefits include Healthcare/Dental/Vision after 90 days and 401k with 5% match after 1 year of employment.

Home City Ice has been in business for over 100 years, we own all of the ice merchandisers we service at gas stations, grocery stores, party stores and construction sites across Detroit. Your job would be to clean condensers, replace faulty parts, communicate issues with the customer and make sure those ice merchandisers work correctly so the customer can sell our product.

Requirements:

• Background check and drug test required
• Drivers license required
• Must be able to speak English
• Must be able to work on summer holidays (4th of July and Labor Day)
• Physically able to climb ladders and lift 20-30lbs
• Must have a cell phone to communicate with office/managers
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
