Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trucking Yard Chassis Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting chassis and heavy-duty equipment used in our trucking operations as well as daily yard duties. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, enabling us to deliver exceptional service. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on truck chassis, including frame, suspension, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and alignment components and perform DOT inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards on Container Chassis Equipment.
Be able to handle yard equipment to aid in Chassis repairs Such as : forklifts and yard trucks.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or replace damaged parts and assemblies.
Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed on Trailer Chassis and Tire repairs as well as DOT inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, suspension adjustments, and brake repairs to uphold Trailer / Container Chassis safety standards.
Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts or yard trucks as needed for repair tasks or moving equipment within the yard.
Experience
Experience as an industrial equipment mechanic with dealership or previous Trailer/Chassis repair/ Tire repair knowledge preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical needs : suspensions, air brakes, and electrical systems for Trailer/Chassis lights, Tire repair and replacement.
Hands-on experience with some fabrication, welding (including soldering) knowledge.
Familiarity with schematics for diagnosing complex mechanical or electrical issues on Trailer/Chassis lights and wiring.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
