Fiber Optic Technician – Immediate Hire

Location: Atlanta, GA

Job Type: Contract (Full-Time)
Start Date: Immediate
Pay (DOE): $30-$35/hr + OT
Typical Hours: 40-50/week

We are seeking experienced Fiber Optic Technicians to join our team for immediate placement on active construction and maintenance projects. This role involves aerial and underground fiber installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced field environment. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights, in scissor lifts, boom lifts, bucket trucks, and in all weather conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cable in aerial, underground, and buried environments
• Operate and work safely from an aerial lift/bucket truck
• Perform fiber testing using OTDR, power meters, and light source equipment
• Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders
• Identify and resolve fiber cuts, splice issues, and signal loss problems
• Maintain compliance with all safety protocols and job site standards
• Coordinate with crew leads and project managers on daily work assignments
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and materials used

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of hands-on fiber optic construction/maintenance experience
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Willingness to travel (if applicable to the role)

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

• Aerial Scissor Lift / Aerial Boom Lift / Bucket Truck Certification
• OSP Certification
• Fall Safety
• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Confined Space Entry Certification
• Pole Climbing Certification
• Fiber splicing and testing experience (OTDR, power meter/light source)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand, kneel, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
