Assistant Project Manager & Construction Lead

Description

About Us:
Diversified Residential Solutions specializes in residential remodeling, Our top priority is building and maintaining relationships. Projects are more so long term and short term , as well as fast-paced PICRA escrow repairs. We thrive on complex, unique projects and rapid-turnaround solutions for real estate transactions. The owner is heavily involved in the day-to-day creative problem-solving and engineering phases of our builds. We are a high-energy, fast-moving company where no two days look the same, and we are looking for a key partner to help us scale.

* The Role: What We Need

We don't need hands-off ; we need a proactive, skilled builder who can jump between swinging a hammer and managing a spreadsheet. You will work directly alongside the owner, serving as the operational backbone of our projects. Your main job is to keep the momentum going on active job sites, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure PICRA repairs are completed smoothly and on time, allowing the owner to focus on complex project engineering and business growth.

* Key Responsibilities

On-Site Execution: Perform and lead hands-on residential repairs, carpentry, structural adjustments, and general construction tasks.
Subcontractor Coordination: Help organize, schedule, and oversee specialized subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, roofing) to ensure quality and timeline compliance.

PICRA Expediting: Manage the tight timelines required for real estate inspection completions in Hampton Roads and surrounding cities—sourcing materials quickly and keeping paperwork organized.

Logistics: Pick up materials, manage tool staging, and ensure job sites are safe, clean, and efficient.

Communication: Act as a bridge between the owner, clients, real estate agents, and local engineers when structural consultations are required.

* What You Bring to the Table

3–5 years of hands-on residential construction experience (framing, trim, drywall, or general remodeling).

A "Figure It Out" Attitude: You don't freeze when a plan changes or a structural surprise pops up on an old house. You look for solutions.

Strong Organization: You can track multiple small repair jobs simultaneously without letting deadlines slip.

Thick Skin & High Energy: You enjoy a fast-paced environment, the noise of a busy job site, and the satisfaction of beating a tight deadline.

Reliable transportation (preferably a truck) and a clean driving record.

* What’s in It for You?

Direct Mentorship: Work side-by-side with a business owner who is deeply passionate about the trade and complex problem-solving.

Variety: You will never get bored. One day you’re working on a custom structural build, the next you’re knocking out a PICRA punch list.

Growth Potential: As the company expands, this role is positioned to grow into a senior Project Manager or Operations Director role.

Competitive Pay: Based on experience, with performance incentives for hitting tight PICRA deadlines.

401k available with employer match.
