Looking to hire experienced Auto Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Automotive Mechanic to join our team at an established independent auto repair shop in West Los Angeles. This is a full-time opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and providing excellent service to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills and be comfortable working on a variety of domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing vehicle problems, performing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

As part of our team, you will work in a professional, independent-shop environment with a steady variety of vehicles and repair work. We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on a variety of vehicles.
Perform routine maintenance and major automotive repairs.
Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling system, and exhaust repairs.
Diagnose engine and drivetrain problems and perform necessary repairs.
Perform vehicle inspections and accurately identify required repairs.
Use diagnostic equipment and scan tools to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
Perform oil changes, fluid services, tune-ups, and other preventative maintenance.
Replace and repair components such as brakes, control arms, ball joints, wheel bearings, axles, belts, hoses, and other automotive parts.
Perform electrical diagnostics and basic electrical repairs.
Road-test vehicles when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose problems.
Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly with management.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow proper safety procedures and industry standards.
Properly use and maintain shop equipment, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements

Previous professional automotive repair experience required.

Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of vehicles.
Experience with both routine maintenance and more complex mechanical repairs.
Ability to use automotive diagnostic scanners and other shop equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Valid California driver's license.
Own professional tools preferred.
ASE certification is a plus but not required.
Experience with European vehicles such as Volvo, Saab, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Volkswagen is a plus.

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay based on experience and skill level.

Experienced technicians with strong diagnostic abilities may qualify for higher compensation.
