Charlie's Foreign Car is looking for a reliable, motivated person to join our team as a Lot Porter, with an opportunity to learn the automotive trade and grow into a Technician position.

We specialize primarily in European vehicles, and we're looking for someone who is interested in building a career in automotive repair—not just looking for a temporary job.

The Position

As a Lot Porter, you'll help keep the shop organized and vehicles moving while learning how a professional European automotive repair shop operates. For the right person, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop the skills needed to become an automotive technician.

Responsibilities may include:

Moving and parking customer vehicles

Keeping the shop and parking areas clean and organized
Picking up and delivering parts
Washing/detailing vehicles as needed
Assisting technicians and service staff
General shop and vehicle maintenance
Learning basic automotive procedures and tools
Helping wherever needed to keep the shop running smoothly
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Is dependable and shows up ready to work
Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn
Takes pride in doing things right
Has a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Is comfortable working around cars and in a busy shop environment
Wants to build a career as an automotive technician
Previous automotive experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right person
The Opportunity

This is a ground-floor opportunity to get into the automotive industry and learn from experienced technicians. If you demonstrate a good work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the desire to learn, you can grow with the shop and work toward becoming a full-time technician.

We work primarily on European cars, so you'll have the opportunity to gain experience with brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Volvo, Mini, Porsche, and others.

Location: Encinitas, CA

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
