Low Voltage technician
Description
SCT is in need of technicians for low voltage work. The work is in hospitals. Must be able to travel during the week. You'll be home on weekends unless you decide to work weekends.
Fiber experience is not necessary but helpful
**Experience:** 1+ years, or equivalent experience, with Low Voltage Systems & Structured Cabling.
**Must have own car to use during the week. Cannot be dropped off, use a co-worker's car or a rideshare.**
**Responsibilities**
- Physically install category structured cabling distribution systems per design interpretations or engineered design drawings
- Install telecommunication outlets, cables, fire stopping, and supports
- Install, terminate, and certify both multi-mode and single-mode fiber
- Install, identify, and terminate various types of cable and wire in various locations, including coax, data, power cables, and grounding systems, with an understanding of industry-standard color codes
- Perform new and retrofit commercial data and voice,
- Maintain strong working knowledge of TIA and BICSI standards, including installation, troubleshooting, and service
- Proficient in the proper use of trade hand and power tools
- Experienced in reading and interpreting engineered drawings, submittals, and operational/product manuals
- Able to install, test, modify, and repair a wide range of support equipment
- Proficient with installation components within telecommunications equipment room
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50–70 lbs

- Maintain strong working knowledge of TIA and BICSI standards, including installation, troubleshooting, and service
