Maintenance Technicians for Apartment Community

Position Summary: Large apartment community is seeking qualified Maintenance Technicians.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to maintenance requests as instructed by the Property Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedules, monitors and/or performs preventative maintenance and apartment turns.
  • Diagnoses problems and repairs in the areas of electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, sheetrock, and appliances.
  • Ensures that work orders requests are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Ensures residential units have been turned in a timely & efficient manner, as well as determines if work has been completed properly.
  • Provides excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants, and promotes a quality living experience for all residents.
  • Provides on-call pager service when scheduled and performs emergency maintenance work when required.
  • Inspects buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, and alerts Property Manager to items that require repair.
  • Communicates with Property Manager regarding the overall maintenance function of the property.
  • Complies with all Company, Federal, State, and Local laws.
Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of previous apartment experience.
  • High School Diploma preferred.

Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Comprehension of federal fair housing laws.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Clean driving record.
