Maintenance Technician

Location: Madison, WI
Position: Full-time
Compensation: $25-$29
Benefits: 2 Weeks Paid Vacation, 1 week paid personal time
On-call expectations: On-call rotation

FUR Property Management is looking for a dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our apartment communities safe, clean, and in good working order. You’ll handle resident work orders, preventive maintenance, apartment turnovers, and general property upkeep. The right person is practical, organized, and comfortable working with residents and a property management team.

What you’ll do

Respond to resident maintenance requests and document work completed.

Diagnose and repair common apartment issues involving plumbing, electrical, appliances, doors, locks, and finishes.

Complete preventive maintenance and routine property inspections.

Prepare apartments for move-in, including repairs, touch-ups, and coordination with vendors.

Maintain clean, safe common areas and grounds.

Help with seasonal work, including snow as needed.

Track materials and supplies, and communicate when parts or outside contractors are needed.

Follow safety procedures and treat residents and their homes with care.

What we’re looking for

Prior maintenance experience; apartment or multifamily experience is a plus.

Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.

Strong troubleshooting and time-management skills.

A respectful, service-minded approach with residents and coworkers.

Ability to work independently and keep clear records of completed work.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to lift and carry maintenance materials and perform physical work, including bending, climbing, and working indoors and outdoors.
