Maintenance Technician / Crew Chief Trainee — New Orleans
ENERGY EFFICIENCY TECHNICIAN AND CREW CHIEF
No energy efficiency experience required but helpful. We provide paid field training for someone who is comfortable with tools and ready to lead a small crew.
Pay progression
Days 1–30: $1,250 per week during basic field training
Days 31–60: $1,500 per week during Crew Chief training
Day 60 onward: performance-based Crew Chief position, with earnings up to $3,500 per week
Current BPI certifications helpful, not required.
Paid every Tuesday by direct deposit.
You’ll learn to use a blower door, Duct Blaster and manometer to find air and duct leakage; seal ducts and air leaks; install blown attic insulation; supervise a helper; and document completed jobs. First Star Energy provides approximately $20,000 in technical equipment.
You should be dependable, comfortable using tools, have transportation and a reliable smartphone, and be able to work independently. HVAC, electrical or construction experience is helpful but not required. Background check and drug test required.
Testing equipment, jobs, workers comp, general liability provided.
