Maintenance Technician / Handyperson for Vacation Rental Home

Hi, I'm looking for a long-term partnership with a reliable, proactive local contractor / maintenance technician / handyperson for my 4-bedroom 3-bath vacation rental home located in Truckee. This rental has been in business for many years and has "elite status" due to it's high ratings and performance record. I want a person who takes pride in keeping the property well maintained to ensure a high standard of quality and guest satisfaction.

I’m looking for a dependable "go-to" hands on person to help keep the property in top-tier condition, and to assist with a wide variety of tasks to keep the rental property running smoothly.

Job tasks:

• Routine Maintenance: property assessments, change light bulbs / batteries, replace air / water filters, minor repairs - deck touch-ups, fix blinds or cabinet hardware, check and organize supplies, check appliances and keep them in good shape, some yard clean up.
• Seasonal Prep: exterior/deck before winter snows and summer seasons.
• Emergency and On-Call Support: Troubleshoot Wi-Fi/smart lock issues, clear a minor plumbing clog, or handle a guest emergency, address issues between turnovers.
• Short Term Rental Permit Compliance: Ideally, you will be listed as my local emergency contact for the Town of Truckee, meaning you will physically respond to the property within 30 minutes in the rare event of a neighborhood nuisance complaint.

Requirements:

• Must live or operate directly within 30 minutes of Truckee to guarantee quick response times and Short Term Rental city code compliance. Ability to access the house year-round.
• Tech-savvy: use of text messaging, receiving alerts, use a smart-lock key code for entry, and send status reports and smartphone photos of completed work.
• Extremely reliable, organized, with a good eye for detail. Great communication skills. Timely, honest, professional, personable, independent.
• Home maintenance and handy work experience is required – diagnosis, problem solving, and execution with speed and efficiency. Tools and certifications a major plus.
• Able to work with a fluctuating schedule and be on call for emergencies.
