Kinder’s Meats * Deli * BBQ is looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support our restaurant locations by keeping equipment, facilities, and back-of-house operations running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fixing, troubleshooting, and tinkering, and takes pride in being the go-to person when something breaks. You’ll play a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting store teams, and ensuring our kitchens operate safely and efficiently.
Schedule & Structure
Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)
On-call availability required for urgent repair needs
Flexible scheduling based on business needs and maintenance priorities
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance & Repairs
Diagnose and repair issues across multiple restaurant locations, including:
Kitchen equipment (ovens, smokers, fryers, refrigeration units, etc.)
Plumbing issues (leaks, clogs, fixtures)
Basic electrical (lighting, outlets, switches)
General facility repairs (doors, hinges, shelving, minor carpentry)
Perform routine preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
Identify potential issues before they become major problems
On-Call & Multi-Location Support
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner across all store locations
Travel between locations as needed to complete repairs
Communicate clearly with store leadership regarding timelines and repair status
Prioritize urgent issues that impact operations, safety, or customer experience
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas during and after repairs
Follow all company safety protocols when working with equipment and tools
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned to support store operations
Qualifications
Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or handyman work (restaurant or commercial kitchen experience strongly preferred)
Strong working knowledge of back-of-house kitchen equipment and systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
Comfortable handling a wide range of repairs (mechanical, minor electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment (up to ~50 lbs)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
