Maintenance Technician / Property Manager — On-Site, Unit Included
Maintenance Technician / Property Manager
Description
About the Job
We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician / Property Manager to live on-site at our San Francisco apartment building. This is a great fit for someone who's handy, reliable, and comfortable wearing two hats — keeping the property running smoothly and being the go-to contact for tenants.
A free studio unit at the property is included as part of compensation, along with an hourly wage of $19.61–$22. This role does require periodic after-hours availability for emergencies (water leaks, lockouts, heating issues, etc.).
Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day maintenance requests: plumbing, electrical, appliances, painting, drywall, doors/locks, and general repairs
Perform unit turnovers between tenants (repairs, painting, punch-list work)
Maintain common areas, hallways, laundry room, and exterior grounds
Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as needed
Act as first point of contact for tenants — handle basic property management tasks (showings, move-in/move-out coordination, communicating with ownership)
Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety checks
Coordinate with licensed contractors for major electrical, plumbing, or structural work
Keep basic records of work completed and supplies needed
Requirements
General handyman skills — comfortable with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and appliance repair
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Good communication skills for tenant-facing interactions
Available for periodic after-hours/emergency calls
Must be able to live on-site
Bilingual in English and Spanish required
Prior property maintenance or property management experience a plus, but not required
Compensation & Benefits
$19.61–$22/hour, DOE
Free studio unit at the property included
