Maintenance Technician / Welder / Water Treatment Operator

A well-established automotive metal finishing supplier has in Phoenix and has a new opportunity.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician / Welder / Water Treatment Operator maintains facility and production equipment, performs welding repairs, and operates the water treatment systems supporting the coating process. This role maintains process water quality and ensures wastewater discharge meets city requirements. Systems include reverse osmosis (RO), deionization (DI), wastewater treatment, and water distribution to production lines.

WATER TREATMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and maintain RO and DI water purification systems, the wastewater treatment system, and water distribution to production lines.
• Monitor and test treated water, wastewater, and process rinse water to ensure applicable quality standards and city discharge requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot and repair water treatment equipment.
• Maintain records of water treatment activities and test results, and report water quality problems to the supervisor.

MAINTENANCE AND WELDING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use welding equipment to repair broken or damaged fixtures and production cages.
• Perform routine building maintenance, including repairs to windows, doors, walls, and other structural components.
• Repair broken or leaking plumbing to prevent water damage and restore service.
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged electrical wiring within assigned training and authorization.
• Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including roof sealing, to reduce future problems.
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards and report conditions requiring additional support.
• Paint building surfaces when existing paint is faded, chipped, or otherwise deteriorated.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of welding experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with water treatment systems.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry.

SCHEDULE AND WORK LOCATION

Full-time; 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime. Work is performed in person.
